What is your style?

Light-filled but most of all, authentic. Admirers of the inviting feel of an outdoor venue & airy windows of an indoor one, natural light is the perfect companion for the Something Minted Photography style. Your story (and soon, the greatest promise!) brings us together, whether it's off to a: farm, historic home, beach, orchard, vineyard or destination love finds you! Something Minted documents estate weddings in the Seattle and Portland areas that are classic, romantic and inviting.

Where can we see more of your work?

On the blog! You'll find favorites from every wedding (including reception photos) and engagement!

Do you travel?

Absolutely! The team and I are always up for a good adventure and keep passports current. Planning your big day in Washington? No travel fees are asked for weddings within our home state. If your venue is 125+ miles outside of Bonney Lake, overnight accommodations are requested. And if your wedding is a flights distance, the exact cost for plane tickets and 2 nights stay will be asked.

Do you include engagement sessions?

Yes! Aside from sharing with friends & family in announcements, engagement sessions offer a time to become familiar with posing flows so you'll know what to expect come wedding day. I believe nothing builds trust better than experience! Live out of state and won't be visiting until the wedding? Know anything time based is directly transferrable to anything else time based. For example, the one hour engagement session may be applied to one hour of wedding day coverage.

Do you offer digital files?

All collections include fully edited digital files along with personal reprint rights & an online gallery to offer instant-access! Believer in backup plans, I'll also mail out a custom flash drive containing every image :)

Do you charge an additional fee for editing?

Color correction, exposure fixes, cropping + straightening as well as natural, light retouching is included in each collection! Retouching includes any mark that will not be present in two weeks, such as blemishes. Any client requested edits, such as removal of persons or things, body shaping, removal of scars or birthmarks, teeth whitening, etc, will be outsourced to retouchers and invoiced at $20 per image. There is beauty in what makes you unique!

How many images do we receive from our wedding?

When it comes to the amount of images delivered, it truly depends on the number of details to photograph and how many family groupings we put together! The average is 50-75 final edited images per hour on a wedding day. With this, the team and I are firm believers in quality over quantity. Something Minted Photography retains complete control over the image selection and editing process -including the RAW files. This is to ensure the final products delivered to all clients are representative of the craftsmanship and quality of work.

When will the images be ready?

Complete portrait collections are delivered up to 4 weeks from session date and weddings are up to 8 weeks from event date. You'll be personally contacted when images are ready for viewing, downloading, sharing & printing through your online gallery. Expect happy mail to follow!

Why order prints through the online gallery?

The fine art prints, albums and canvas offered are solely processed through Something Minted's preferred professional lab, which the computers used to edit all images are specifically calibrated for. This guarantees rich and consistent print products as well as a second set of eyes to check for overall quality. Any product ordered through your online gallery is first mailed to the office before being sent your way! Heirloom albums are made from the finest archival print material and bound by hand. The thick, fade-resistant matte pages lay flat to display your story in a seamless manner. They are warrantied for life by a U.S. based manufacturer and the prices include design, product, a protective canvas cover and shipping. Here you’ll find cover options and a live look!

What type of gear do you use?

A team of Canon users who shoot on full frame EOS digital camera bodies and professional series lenses. With extensive back up gear and wedding day essentials on hand, including clear umbrellas, the team and I always come prepared!

Have you ever missed a wedding day?

Nope :) Just like I wouldn’t have missed my own wedding day, I don’t want to miss yours! I’ve never been unable to photograph an event, but always have a backup plan. If something beyond my control prevents me from shooting a wedding, my second shooter is ready to step into the role of primary photographer, providing the same level of professionalism, care and overall image quality that clients expect and deserve.

We are on a budget, why should we choose you over a less expensive photographer?

The pricing structure allows me to take only 10 weddings per year to give my very best in life and business. Something Minted's light-filled shooting style isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay! I encourage you to pour over the blog and others to see how you’d like the story of your wedding day portrayed. If you place high importance in trust and connection then we're your team! At the end of the day you’re paying to receive a set of memories in the form of photographs, but also for professionals who take time to create an experience that adds to the delight in your day. When you choose Something Minted, you’re hiring photographers who can capture the feeling of it all as well as handle any situation. Most of all, we love this job and doing it all for you.
